Arbitration Fees

Fees for arbitrations are dependent upon the amount in controversy, the number of parties, the complexity of the case, and any cost of a forum or venue for the hearing.

Fees are based on these factors which vary widely from case to case.  Fees are priced on an hourly fee structure that applies to study time, hearing time and deliberation time.  Please call to discuss the specifics of your case so I may determine an appropriate fee schedule.

Forum Fees
Depending upon the locale and forum for the arbitration, forum fees may vary. Generally, the arbitrator’s out-of-pocket costs for hearing rooms and refreshments are charged and divided equally among the parties to the arbitration.

Cancellation Policy
Late cancellation of arbitrations causes a variety of problems for all concerned. To minimize this problem, the following late cancellation policy may apply. If an arbitration final hearing is cancelled 21 or fewer days prior to the scheduled start of the arbitration, a cancellation fee equal to the per diem rate times the number of days cancelled may be charged to the cancelling party or parties unless those days can be filled. Valid reasons for cancellation such as counsel's assignment to trial will not result in the imposition of a cancellation fee.

Travel Expenses
Actual expenses incurred for travel, lodging and meals, along with other travel-related expenses will be charged and divided equally among the parties without any markup.
